Video: How weatherproof are GORUCK bags?

4 September 2011 | Comments | 6 notes |

I’ve been asked a few times if the GORUCK bags really are weatherproof.

This is something I intend to test fully during September’s Invesco Perpetual Highland Adventure Race, however in the meantime, there’s a short video demonstration after the break.

I realise that this isn’t exactly a scientific or rigorous test, but as you can see, the water beads up on the fabric and runs straight off. The MOLLE webbing gets soaked through and the fabric of the bag feels damp to the touch on the outside after a while, but the inside stays nice and dry.

Suffice it to say, I have no issues with carrying my iPad, MacBook Air or Canon 5D Mark II around in the rain in a GORUCK bag.

Check out my full reviews of the GORUCK GR Echo and the GR2.
